Mecklenburg Area Recreational Soccer (MARS) and its league commissioners have compiled a Covid19 Return to Play Guide based on feedback and guidelines set forth by our sport’s governing bodies at the State and National level combined with information set by North Carolina’s Governor and the Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS).
Many of these recommended protocols are common sense. Working together, we can continue to minimize exposure to the COVID-19 virus, then we can all stay safe and healthy and continue to enjoy sport activities.
While we are going to do our best to put the players, coaches and spectator in the safest possible environment, primarily it is the responsibility of our families to educate their player/s on expectations when out on the field.
*** These Polices are fluid and are subject to change without notice, based upon directives from governing bodies ***
If you are sick for any reason, you must stay home.
- Before you leave for the game if you have:
- temperature above 100.4 (take your temperature at home), or
- any symptoms of Covid-19 for past 14 days, or
- been exposed to a confirmed case of Covid-19 for past 14 days, or
- ANY other symptoms of any illness, THEN
PLEASE STAY HOME
- Clubs reserve the right to require health screenings or temperature checks before allowing you to the field
Players and parents must wear a mask when out of the car until they’re back in the car after the conclusion of the game.
Player’s must wear a mask during the game. Referees have been encouraged to allow players to step out of the action momentarily to “catch their breath”, at a safe social distance, by briefly pulling down their masks.
Further information, requirements and guidelines for exceptions on the NCDHHS Mask Mandate can be found at https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/media/412/open. We strongly encourage you to take the time to read this information.
Spectator must stay 6 feet away from playing field and 6 feet away from other spectators.
Since we will not play an End of season tournament, we will not ask coaches to enter players name and jersey # on the website. Rosters will be self-monitored by their own club officials.
